As an advertising specialist and successful illustrator for many years, Donna was given the opportunity to join the Jackson Hwy Crew in 2004. With the clinic just opening up, her expertise quickly brought business and warmth to the clinic.
From designing the clinic newsletter, brochures, web site and creating memorial frames for the owners, (a lock of hair from their beloved pets that had passed away with a little poem attached), Donna brings a caring atmosphere for all to share. Warm, helpful and most of all a nack for understanding, Donna works hard to keep the clinic running. Harmony and communication are priority one for her at our clinic.
Donna - Administrator/Office Manager
As a pastime, Donna loves to go trail riding with her mule "Doc" when the chance arises.
Lauri - Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Lauri. Here’s a little about me. First off, I obviously love animals. My favorite thing about my job would have to be taking care of baby animals, especially kittens. I am a big sucker when it comes to orphans. I also enjoy seeing an animal leave happy and healthy after coming in near death.
It really is a great feeling that you were able to make a difference. It’s also nice to be able to work with people that you consider friends, it sure does make the atmosphere a lot brighter!
Outside of work, I love horseback riding, fishing, camping, all the outdoor stuff pretty much.
I also enjoy training and showing off my herding dogs. I live on a small farm where I have everything from a ferret, to a 2500lb Brahman cow. The typical country girl I guess you could say!
Mel - Veterinary Assistant
Hi, my name is Mel, and I've lived in Lewis County for about 18 years. I've always had a passion for animals, no matter what species they were. Although, my favorite critters include chinchillas, ferrets, and horses, I don't waste any time when it comes to snuggling other species, such as the more common cat or dog.
Because I love spending time with and helping animals, working at Jackson Hwy Vet Clinic, has been an absolute blessing! It's nice to have a job, more like a career, where I'm actually excited to go to work and feel like I'm making a difference in the life of a scared/upset dog or cat.
Even if that simple 'difference' is helping them to feel more at home during their stay by doing little things like giving them extra bedding, plenty of snuggles, or even a little soft food as a treat.
Although, some days aren't quite as easy as simply pampering scared critters and are often quite busy. There are certainly those times when the schedule is packed full of appointments, forcing me to be more creative with my time, or even if we have an emergency that requires I stay after hours. I wouldn't trade being a technician for anything. I honestly think I have the best job there is to offer, and that in itself is quite the piece of mind to go home with. It also helps working with an awesome staff who get along famously and also believe in 'striving for a satisfying day at work.'

The Real owners of Jackson Hwy Clinic! Our Clinic Pets
Thumbtack is a very independent kitty and only has time for herself. Older and not much into socialization she still runs the roost here at our clinic.
Jac-Jac is a Curly Coated Retriever. A very rare breed with only 500 breeders in the United states. He basically gets out of Thumbtack's way.
Andrea - Certified Veterinary Technician
Hi my name is Andrea. I just recently started here at Jackson Hwy Vet Clinic as a Certified Veterinary Technician from Pierce College in Lakewood Washington.
I've always had love and compassion for animals ever since I was little, especially my cats, dogs and horses. Because of this love for them I realized the goal to work in this field of animal care could be possible.
I've lived here in Lewis County my whole life and in my spare time like to camp, hunt and ride horses. If I am outside I am very happy!
Susan - Veterinary Assistant

Sammie is a Blue Lynx Point Siamese cat who thinks he should get fed "goodies" when ever we like it or not. When it is time to go to work in the morning he is asked "Do you want to go Bye Bye?" and of course he runs and jumps on top of the dryer waiting for his leash so he can to go.
